After his sophomore year in law school, Cale worked as a summer articling student at Bangs McCullen. After law school, he worked as a trainee attorney for Daneta Wollmann, a magistrate judge in the United States District Court for the District of South Dakota. Cale joined the firm in August 2021 as a partner. Rod has been with our Rapid City office since joining the firm in 1990. Rod`s practice focuses on banking and finance, corporate and commercial transactions, real estate and litigation, construction disputes, and creditor rights in bankruptcy proceedings. Rod is a member of the Bar Association and was elected to the Board of Governors of the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association. He is listed in the Best Lawyers of America ranking for banking and financial disputes, real estate litigation and real estate law. Rod was named Rapid City Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers for Real Estate Litigation (2017, 2021) and Real Estate Law (2022). John`s practice focuses on federal, state and local tax planning (and controversy), business transactions, strategic business planning and consulting, as well as estate and trust matters, including the formation and planning of trusts for eternity (dynasty). He is an auditor and has worked as a tax specialist at Deloitte, Haskins & Sells (currently Deloitte & Touche) both domestically and in Saudi Arabia. Prior to joining Bangs McCullen, John practiced law at national and regional law firms, including Heller, Ehrman, White & McAuliffe, based in San Francisco. He is also the author of chapters in State Limited Partnership Laws and State Limited Liability Company Statutes published by Aspen. He has hosted the South Dakota State Bar and the Montana State Bar. Naomi Jiyoung Bang graduated from Georgetown University in the mid-1980s with a master`s degree in foreign service schools and a juris doctorate after completing her undergraduate studies at Northwestern University. She began practicing at two national law firms in D.C., and later became a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney`s Office.
In the 2000s, she moved to Texas, where she established a federal law department at a Houston-based global immigration firm. Wife. Bang has also worked as a clinical law professor, supervising students in human trafficking disputes, and taught a federal course on immigration disputes as a supplement. Over the past decade, she has published several articles on corporate responsibility and human trafficking in several law school journals. Throughout her career, she has also worked on several overseas rule of law projects for USAID. It is/was licensed in DC, NJ, NY, PA and TX. She is the mother of two beautiful children and gratefully serves as the Texas subsidiary for PJI. Steve, originally from Rapid City, has been with the company for twenty years.
Steve specializes in family law (including divorce, custody disputes, adoptions, child support and more) and real estate law. Steve has extensive experience in custody litigation, property and business valuation litigation, child and spousal support, and conflict divorce resolution. Kathryn works as a litigator and litigator in the firm`s Sioux Falls office, but represents clients throughout South Dakota, where she is admitted in state and federal courts. Her training is in nursing and she worked as a full-time nurse before and during her law studies. The traits that have made her an excellent nurse (a strong work ethic, compassion and friendliness, and meticulous attention to detail) have also laid the foundation for her successful litigation practice, which includes defending medical malpractice cases and representing health professionals in professional regulatory and licensing matters. Connor, a native of Rapid City, joined Bangs McCullen in 2022. His practice focuses on estate planning, succession, business formation and commercial transactions. Prior to joining the firm, Connor clerked for the Honorable Mark Moreno, a federal judge for the District of South Dakota.
