On June 22, 2021, it was announced that Lake would return to television in a revival of the series We the People Courtroom, previously directed by Gloria Allred. Lake will direct his own edition of the We the People series with Justice Lauren Lake. Similar to the first episode with Allred, the court show will be produced by Byron Allen`s Entertainment Studios and aired on JusticeCentralTV. The show will join a number of sister television shows on this network, including America`s Court with Justice Ross, Justice for All with Justice Cristina Perez, Justice with Justice Mablean, Supreme Court with Justice Karen and The Verdict with Justice Hatchett. [14] Lake, a family lawyer and legal analyst, is a former host of Lauren Lake`s Paternity Court, a national show for MGM Domestic Television Distribution. The show, in which Lake helped litigants resolve legal issues related to fatherhood, ran for seven seasons and was nominated for four Daytime Emmys for Best Legal/Judicial Program (including the last three consecutive years) and won the category in 2019. It was not renewed for Season 8 as MGM pulled out of the Court Show Arena last year, with all three series — Paternity Court, Couples Court With the Cutlers and Personal Injury Court — coming to an end. In 2019, the show received a Daytime Emmy Award for outstanding legal/judicial programming after its 6th season. However, after Season 7 in early 2020, Lauren Lake`s Paternity Court ended production, which was confirmed as canceled until 2021.

MGM has abandoned all of its court programs due to financial difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic. PREVIOUS EXCLUSIVE, 22. June 2021: Byron Allen`s Entertainment Studios has commissioned We the People With Judge Lauren Lake, a one-hour daily legal series/strip that will be available for television and global cable, network and digital platforms in fall 2022. The series is produced and distributed by Allen Media Group/Entertainment Studios. Unlike most court shows today, which usually have two cases in each episode, paternity court focuses on only one case per episode, though a second case may look unusual. [10] Lake takes time before and after the results to speak to his litigants. [8] Lauren Lake`s Paternity Court ended production after the 2019-2020 television season (the show`s 7th season). Due to the financial decline of the show`s distributor, MGM, Paternity Court ended production with its sister shows Couples Court with the Cutlers and Personal Injury Court. Due to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, MGM studio was also for sale. However, the show will air in replays, but ratings for the show will not be calculated due to the lack of partnership between MGM and Nielsen Ratings.

The end of the aforementioned court programs is also ingrained in MGM`s network customer base, which consists of lower-rated networks like The CW and MyNetworkTV. [11] People want to make it a dirty little secret. It is a child`s right to know who his or her parents are, and we must treat it as such. Most of us are 2 to 3 degrees of separation between a person/family member away from someone who has problems with fatherhood. A Broadcasting & Cable article talking about the show`s design listed the episodes focused on paternity testing of the Maury talk show as a direct inspiration for Paternity Court, as Bryan stated in the article that Maury`s high ratings among women ages 25 to 54 and the popularity of the court show genre allowed the two concepts to merge. Weigel Broadcasting president Neal Sabin, whose group of stations was among the first to take over the program, thought it was a natural addition to its networks` programming, saying it was “a little maurious and a little courteous.” [2] [3] Paternity Court was established on Monday, September 23, 2013. [4] The first day of recording of the judicial broadcast was June 13, 2013. In season 2, Lake`s name was added to the series` title, Lauren Lake`s Paternity Court.[5] The production was also moved from Los Angeles to Georgia Public Broadcasting Studios in Atlanta that season.[6][7] [7] Reports on the series first surfaced in December 2012. By December 2012, 9 months before its debut, the courtroom show had already been sold in 75% of the country. The networks acquired the show on a pure barter basis with 31/2 minutes of local advertising time and 31/2 minutes of national advertising in each episode.

[2] [3] As of August 2013, the show had been sold in 92% of the country. [8] Paternity court is a half-hour mix of plaintiff/defendant talk show. Lake speaks to the show`s litigants and decides cases based on DNA test results. As with many Atlanta-based productions, the series also received tax credits from the Georgia Film Office for producing the series in Georgia, and OFM had credits for its support. Amid a decline in the genre in terms of industry, entertainment studios have stepped up their syndicated court programming. We the People joins the company`s experienced U.S. Court with Justice Ross, Justice For All with Justice Cristina Perez, Justice with Justice Mablean, Supreme Justice with Justice Karen and The Verdict with Justice Hatchett. The series are broadcast in more than 90% of U.S.

television markets, as well as on networks and digital platforms, including the Entertainment Studios Networks Justicecentral.tv, which is available in more than 50 million U.S. homes. In episode five, she tears up a new one after discovering that she cheated on this guy by pretending that he was the boy`s father, even though she knew he wasn`t. Lake then threw the girl out of the courtroom as she began to smile at his apparent pain when he discovered he was not the boy`s father. The courtroom was shocked, but at that moment we all realized that – this is real life! Paternity court (similar to Maury) reveals DNA results from parents who aren`t sure if “you`re the father!” The show has been renewed for a 2nd season and starts on September 22. We are very confident that our final judicial series with Justice Lake will be successful in the years to come as it joins our outstanding roster of talent, including Justice Kevin Ross, Justice Mablean Ephriam, Justice Christina Perez, Justice Karen Mills-Francis and Justice Glenda Hatchett.

“When will YOU know the results of the DNA test? When I read the results in front of the courtroom. Everything I say after reading the results comes from my heart and experience. Paternity Court has two sister shows: Couples Court with the Cutlers, hosted by Keith and Dana Cutler, which takes a similar approach of using evidence and testing to prove or disprove infidelity; and Personal Injury Court, which is hosted by Gino Brogdon and has seen cases of assault. [15] All three court programs ended production as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the cancellation of which was later confirmed. You`d think a show about fatherhood would be great, because these are the best episodes of Mary and other daytime talk shows. But it`s pretty bad. “Dramatic” breaks are overused, the courtroom does not function well and none of the candidates seem credible. What is the biggest misconception about fatherhood in GA? Do you watch court television? Do you think it`s real or just for television? I had the opportunity to attend a paternity court recording and then meet with family lawyer Lauren Lake.

In the episode I was able to visit, the young woman had two children in question and the test revealed that the gentleman in court was the father of one, but not of the other. UPDATE, 11:26 a.m.: A new courtroom shows We the People with Judge Lauren Lake in 95 percent of the United States.
