Consultants and organizations tend to name their own unique approaches to quality control – some of which are widely used: QC is a systematic control of various factors that affect product quality. It depends on the 4M conditions, i.e. man, machine, material and method or working conditions and measuring instruments, etc. There are several methods to measure the performance of quality control. A quality control table is a graph that shows whether the sampled products or processes meet the intended specifications – and if not, to what extent they deviate from those specifications. When each chart analyzes a specific attribute of the product, it is called a univariate chart. When a chart measures deviations across multiple product attributes, it is called a multivariate chart. Some companies set up internal quality control services when defining what quality control is. They do this to monitor products and services, while others rely on external bodies to track products and performance. These controls may depend largely on the company`s industry.
