They work with investigators, law enforcement, government agencies, and external consultants to combat the visibility, distribution, import, and transportation of counterfeit goods in the United States. The lawyer in this capacity will support and strengthen our anti-counterfeiting investigations and legal strategy at the national and global levels. The candidate has at least 1-5 years of experience and a healthy dose of curiosity and passion for brand protection, investigation, relationship building, problem identification, problem solving, and working with large amounts of data. Already have experience with an IPR database like Diams IQ and preferably with other tools like Power BI. Knowledge of other legal technology tools preferred, but not strictly necessary. As General Counsel of Chanel, Inc., Daniel is responsible for developing and advancing Chanel`s U.S. legal strategy to advance and protect the brand. Negotiate, draft and review a wide range of contracts, including sales, distribution, manufacturing, IT, marketing, public relations, finance, consulting and labour contracts; dealing with employment-related legal issues; Provide training for employees; and addressing various regulatory compliance issues, including security and data protection. Daniel is also responsible for Chanel`s compliance in the U.S. and a member of chanel, Inc.`s Operational Management Committee. Before joining Chanel in 1996, Daniel was a partner at Proskauer Rose in the labour and employment department. Daniel is also Co-Chair of the CCA – NYC Chapter Retail Practice Group and previously served twice on the Board of Directors. He was admitted to the New York and New Jersey bars. Daniel received his J.D., with distinction, from Boston University School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Boston University Law Review. Daniel holds a bachelor`s degree in political science from the University of Michigan. Infringements of intellectual property rights: based on global and regional strategies, monitor, implement and support actions against third-party infringers, including the preparation of cessation and forbearance declarations, commitments and settlement agreements. In a law enforcement or litigation context or otherwise, help prepare instructions for advice and the collection and submission of evidence. IP Strategy: Make an important contribution to harmonised and ambitious strategies for the UK region, aligned with global IP priorities and the strategy for the effective release, maintenance, development and enforcement of trademarks, designs, copyrights and domain names.
