District of Columbia Rules of Court – District (Vol. I) provides state court rules, including: District of Columbia Rules of Court â District and Federal (Vols. I-II) provides the judicial rules required to practice in the district and federal courts of the District of Columbia, providing attorneys with a compact but comprehensive procedural library to include in their briefcase. The law of evidence in the District of Columbia has been an integral part of the courts of the District of Columbia for more than 40 years. It is an invaluable tool for analyzing threshold evidence issues during the preparation of the study and for obtaining quick answers to questions of evidence in court. It is especially useful for practitioners who appear in local and federal courts in the District of Columbia. Each federal rule of evidence is established at the beginning of a section. Since the federal rules are not applicable in the District of Columbia, the following document includes a brief comment comparing the respective federal rule with the local practice of the DC Court. The document then presents case notes that show the evolution and current state of the law in the district courts. Given the influence of his statements, notes from the U.S. Supreme Court are also included. A historical appendix may contain the legislative history of each federal rule of evidence contained in Chapters 1 to 11.
